MP Hariri hails values of moderation, justice

BEIRUT: Sidon MP Bahia Hariri hailed Sunday the values of moderation and justice as a necessity for coexistence in Lebanon.

“Justice regulates the rights and duties in the relation with ourselves and the relation with others in a way that no side dominates the other,” Hariri said during a ceremony for the Leadership Academy for Justice and Moderation.

“The sense of security among different factions of a society can only be ensured on the basis of justice that preserves the rights and determines the duties,” she said.

Hariri said that “moderation is needed to emphasize our humanity because we do not live alone in this world.”

“Only monsters live alone adopting the rule of the jungle; they kill whoever they want and live alone in its brutality, but human beings love each other by nature and cannot face the challenges of life alone," she said. “The essence of moderation is to respect one another and not to abolish the rights of others."
