BEIRUT: Internal Security Forces arrested Thursday a suspect accused of stabbing an elderly woman and her daughter in their north Lebanon residence last week.
According to an ISF statement, police in Tripoli arrested a 22-year old suspect identified by his initials A.B.
During the interrogation, the suspect, who confessed to committing the crime, said that he had intended to rob victims in order to purchase drugs.
The suspect’s uncle, who was also his dealer, was also arrested for “inciting robbery,” the statement read.
The arrest comes almost one week after the suspect allegedly raided the residence of Mohammad Bou Omar in Dinnieh wearing a mask. He is accused of stabbing the man's wife and mother-in-law.
The mother-in-law died immediately and Bou Omar's wife was referred to a hospital for medical treatment.
The ISF also arrested two individuals in Verdun for drug posession, according to a seperate statement. The two suspects, who were identified as H.Z and Q.H, were carrying 2 grams of heroin and nine small bags of cannabis, a razor and a knife.
During interrogations the suspects confessed to purchasing drugs from a woman in Corniche al-Mazraa.
Police proceeded to arrest the dealer who was identified by initials, K.N, and seized roughly 50 grams of heroin, cash, fifty bank receipts and two credit cards.
