BEIRUT: Air traffic will be suspended Tuesday for two hours due to a strike in protest of Parliament's delay in endorsing a salary increase for civil servants, the National News Agency reported.
Inbound and outbound flights from Rafik Hariri International Airport will be suspended for a period of two hours from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the NNA said.
The airport will issue a statement later detailing the flights that will be affected by the strike.
Their strike action will coincide with a major protest by civil servants and teachers to pressure Parliament to pass the wage hike. Parliament is set to meet again Tuesday in an attempt to pass the wage hike but it is still unknown if lawmakers would attend the session after the last attempt failed due to a lack of quorum.
The majority of Christian MPs and the March 14 lawmakers have been boycotting legislative activity since the country plunged into a presidential void last month.
