Khalil pressures ... and the Future seek clearance: The “financial clash” threatens Lebanese salaries
While Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil has affirmed that he will not take any illegal action in the salaries payment concern and called on the MPs to go to the Parliament and issue the required legal permission, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh told As-Safir that the salaries for the public sector will be permanently ensured, saying: “I have already notified the officials about it and I pledge to meet those needs."
Future Movement sources told As-Safir that what was needed was an inclusive treatment of all financial accounts, and not only a part of them. They highlighted that previous governments were able to spend in similar circumstances.
The sources said that the finance minister was seeking legal cover, which is technically his right. But realistically, we should find a compromise for all the financial issue.

U.N. officials have started asking Lebanese officials to provide Syrian refugees with Lebanese passports
Al-Akhbar was told that this suggestion, or demand, was a direct Western demand communicated by officials at the U.N. to the Lebanese. The most dangerous thing about this is that it coincides with U.N.’s establishment of a large number of fait accompli refugee camps in Lebanon, especially in the north and other Lebanese areas, despite the official Lebanese opposition to legitimize any refugee camp.

Ashraf Rifi: Maj. Gen. [Wissam] al-Hasan’s assassination case has advanced to excellent stages
Question: What happened to the investigations in Hasan’s case? Why do we feel that there is an intended eclipse over the truth?
"Yes, the eclipse is intentional to protect the investigations’ secrecy. I have been following the case before I left [my position as head of the Internal Security Forces] and afterward, and I am reassured that it has advanced excellent stages. I assure to the Lebanese that Maj. Gen. Hasan’s case has not been forgotten, and the security [force] that we have left behind satisfied our conscience, and its commitment to the great causes is enough to achieve a result."

Machnouk on Free Sunni Brigade: A work of intelligence
Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk told An-Nahar in response to the Free Sunni Brigade’s threats: “I do not comment on the importance of such words, because they are a work of intelligence whose origin and details are well known. The [real] free ones of the Sunnis are the ones of moderation, stability and balance, and not those of takfir and suicide.”
The twitter account of the Free Sunni Brigade then replied to Machnouk’s comments saying: “You and your 'crusading' security forces who are proud of your high level of shallowness and absurdity ... will fail to prevent us from implementing our blessed jihadi operations whenever and wherever we want.”
The interior minister stressed to An-Nahar that the tweets were being posted from an intelligence agency outside Lebanon. An-Nahar knew that the tweets had been posted from a Blackberry device in London, whose owner was discovered but the authors and locations of the next tweets were most likely changed.
The Lebanese Security Forces expect a report from Twitter Inc. to determine the identity of the person behind the tweets.
