Nasrallah hints Hezbollah may boycott National Dialogue

BEIRUT: Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah Saturday hinted Hezbollah could boycott National Dialogue and took aim at President Michel Sleiman for criticizing his party for intervening militarily in Syria.

“Gold will remain gold and if anyone thinks otherwise, this will not make any difference to the fact of the matter,” Nasrallah said. Hezbollah often describes itself as “gold.”

“In Lebanon there is gold and wood. Wood is for the coffins of occupation [Israeli] soldiers,” he said.

Sleiman has in recent weeks criticized Hezbollah, describing its tripartite “people, resistance, army” formula as “wooden.” The new government abandoned the equation in its policy statement.
