BEIRUT: A woman was killed early morning Monday in a dispute that broke out over the right to enter a nightclub in Kaslik, north of Beirut, security sources told the Daily Star.
The victim, identified as Eliane Saftali, 20, was hit in the neck and died on the spot when a person clad in military attire opened fire in her direction, the sources said.
Police started an investigation into the incident as well as a search for the killer, who fled after the shooting.
The sources said the suspect was already known to police for having committed violations in the past.
The incident in Kaslik occurred shortly after a young man succumbed to wounds he had suffered over the weekend in a shooting near a pub in Kfar Debian following a personal dispute.
