BEIRUT: A 45-year-old Lebanese man wanted for multiple car thefts was arrested, police said in a statement Thursday.
The statement did not say when the suspect, identified only by his initials M.R., was arrested.
It said the arrest came after a Dec. 22 theft of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee was reported.
The statement by the Internal Security Forces said police seized the vehicle registration documents and the ID card of the man whose Jeep had been stolen.
Police also confiscated a quantity of cocaine, a fake ID card and counterfeit Lebanese currency, according to the statement.
ISF said police were executing three search warrants in a vehicle theft investigation against M.R.
