BEIRUT: The state-run Tobacco Board delivered $1.1 million to General Security Friday as part of the organization's $3.3 million grant to the security agency.
In a statement, the board said a delegation met with the head of General Security, Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, and delivered "the first batch of the grant."
The grant is aimed at strengthening the technological and intelligence capabilities of General Security.
