Salameh leads Arab central banks meeting


BEIRUT: Lebanon's Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh led a meeting of Arab central bankers, finance ministries representatives and monetary institutions Sunday in Abu Dhabi.


The annual meeting of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Agencies, organized by the Arab Monetary Fund, discussed the essential monetary challenges facing the region and the world, the National News Agency reported.


Financial inclusion, monitoring the illicit banking system, dealing with local institutions posing systemic risk and establishing an Arab banking commission were among the main topics discussed in the meeting.
