GRAPEVINE, Texas -- Rail service has reached Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit's newest light rail station opens Monday at the airport that handles nearly 166,000 passengers daily.
The nearly 5-mile final extension of the Orange Line begins service four months ahead of schedule at the DFW Airport Station. The $152 million extension offers rail service at Terminal A.
DART is the state's largest municipal rail system, serving Dallas and a dozen surrounding cities. The DFW Airport Station is touted as a way to provide one of the nation's busiest airports with a rail connection to downtown Dallas.
DART bus routes previously combined with rail service to reach Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
