BEIRUT: Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil held talks with former Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the state-run National News Agency said Friday.
NNA did not say when the meeting took place. The website for the Free Patriotic Movement, Tayyar, said Bassil returned home Thursday following a meeting as part of Hariri’s ongoing consultations regarding the presidential election.
Lawmakers have botched several attempts to elect a new president for Lebanon over lack of consenus on a presidential candidate. Lebanon has has been without a head of state since former President Michel Sleiman's term ended May 25.
