MCCOMB, Miss. -- Pike County supervisors may require permits for log trucks and other heavy trucks.
Supervisor Gary Honea tells The Enterprise-Journal (http://bit.ly/1jSMs1X ) that the trucks are rough on county roads.
Other supervisors cite safety concerns about the large trucks, and say a permit process would give the county some degree of control over them.
Honea said other counties in Mississippi require such permits.
Supervisors could also tell loggers which bridges to use, Honea said, adding that he has talked with logging contractors who do not oppose permits.
